A year late, but finally got to take my 26.2 mile

A year late, but finally got to take my 26.2 mile scenic tour of Chicago and it did not disappoint 🏃🏼‍♀️ Electric truly is the only way to describe the energy of this race - 50,000 runners and the most enthusiastic crowd! I learned (again) that I’m the sap that cries at the start line of every race from the beauty of so many people gathered together to celebrate the gift of movement. Pure moments of united joy feel hard to come by in our world today and it was a gift to get to experience it today. I love that everyone shows up to the start line with their own stories of grit that brought them there.

Two years ago @rsmedi01 overserved me a bit too much wine and coerced me into signing up for this race. A few months later I got pregnant and deferred my entry. One year ago, Hayden was born on Chicago marathon weekend. I was joking with a friend this weekend that a year ago today I was wearing postpartum diapers 🤪 Anyways, it was a joy to celebrate how freaking incredible and resilient women’s bodies are and what a blessing it is to be healthy and back doing what I love. Mom strength for the win!
