Weekends outside with Hayden 💜 A chance to breath more deeply as a family, to distance ourselves from the chaos of the work week, and share this beautiful earth with our girl. The transition back to work post-maternity leave has been rough - missing her, feeling like I’m operating with half a brain, stomach flu, sleep regression, working from home and hosting a nanny share. I miss our blissful little bubble of slow mornings and weekday mother daughter dates. It will never be enough, but we’re making the most of the time we get together and every month with her is my new favorite age.

Last fall we scheduled maternity photos for the ev

Last fall we scheduled maternity photos for the evening of October 6. Turns out, Hayden had other plans and decided she wanted in on the fun and decided to show up an hour after we had scheduled our session. Needless to say, we never got those maternity photos, but having her with us for an extra month has been the greatest gift.

This weekend we finally got those photos thanks to the talented @groundupadventures @wildpeakphotography. I met Shelby 10 months ago when we were backpacking to the depths of the Grand Canyon together. I was 16 weeks pregnant and freaking out that the blazing temps in the bottom of the canyon had fried my baby. Fast forward to last night when Shelby and Sean captured such a special season of our lives, baby unfried. Somehow we made it out of that canyon and through the first five months of parenthood. Thank you, Shelby and Sean, for the gift of these photos 🩷
